We are the longest established retro clothing retailers in Leeds and probably in the whole of Yorkshire. We started trading 16 years ago, at first selling to friends and acquaintances and mail order on a
small scale under the name of GET SMART !.
This came about as the result of a lifelong interest in everything sixties. Quite often we would find really great original gear that just wasn't the right size or not our style and around two years earlier we
began collecting items with a view to opening a shop. We moved into a small unit within an Antiques Centre in Leeds during January of 1992.We
stocked mainly sixties gear along with some forties and fifties styles for both men and women. Up until then the retro shops in the region had specialized in mainly ladies pre-1960's gear. Towards the end
of that year we introduced a range of 70's clothing ,we were the first shop in the north of England to do so

In mid 1993 we moved to a larger unit within the Antiques Centre and expanded our range of 60's and 70's era clothing. Again in mid 1994 we moved to a yet larger
unit now offering a truly splendiferous range with the emphasis firmly on 60's and 70's fashions for both sexes and only a very small selection of earlier designs. During this period many existing traders
copied and began moving in to our market and even more copycat shops opened up only to disappear after a short while.In January of 1996 we moved from
the Antiques Centre to a small self contained shop on Kirkgate, Leeds, moving to larger shop premises at 7B, Crown Street, Leeds six months later which we shared with another dealer, operating under the
umbrella name of 20TH CENTURY Our stock, now almost exclusively sixties and
seventies.

In July of 1998 we took over the entire shop and really got the chance to expand, we began to stock a much wider range of accessories and started selling some new items which complimented the authentic ranges.
We changed our name to POSITIVELY 13 O'CLOCK and after only a few months we were able to move to even better premises next door at 7A Crown
Street where we began to stock new sixties and seventies related items such as lava lamps, groovy gifts, cosmetics, costume jewellery and party items.
We launched our website and online boutique in 1999 and were the first in the U.K. to offer a vintage clothing shop online. The site soon took off and we have had
many very happy online customers. We continue to expand the site on a regular basis and we always try to ensure that the site has a 60's feel, and that it is just like a site would have been in the 60's had the
internet have existed in its current form at that time.
In the year 2000 we also began selling some items on an auction basis on eBay which we still continue to do, we presently sell under the name
STUDIO-13-OCLOCK

In September of 2004 we moved to new premises at 102, The Merrion Centre, Leeds and slightly modified our trading name to 13
O'CLOCK BOUTIQUE. The new shop was much larger and had two floors. CLICK HERE TO SEE PHOTOS OF THE SHOP We then concentrated on the 60's
and 70's items we have become famous for and no longer sold party items. Our specialty was still sixties fashions, we were one of the only retailers in the
region to stock a good range from this era and we had a comprehensive range of seventies gear too .We did have some items from earlier times and we still sold both men's and women's clothing. We also began sell
some new clothing made up in retro styles. We opened a 50's, 60's & 70's furniture and household items department on the first floor which we called STUDIO 13.
Which was very well received. We went on to win the
"LEEDS GUIDE" BEST VINTAGE SHOP AWARD 2004 in recognition of our efforts.
In April 2006 we decided to close the shop and concentrate on our online business, this was a big decision but we felt that this was the right way to go, although
we love the sixties, sometimes in business you just have to move with the times! It was an essential move to lower overheads and give the best possible service to our customers. We used the opportunity to
revert to our previous name of POSITIVELY 13 O'CLOCK

We have been often copied but never surpassed, we pride ourselves on the QUALITY and CLEANLINESS
of our stock which sets us apart from the others. We are involved in the sixties scene ,we are interested in the stuff we sell, indeed we wear it !! unlike many vintage clothing retailers who are in
it just for the profits. We have regular customers who have been shopping with us since day one and you can't get a better endorsement than that !.
